Ellie Mason

Ellie is a third year English Literature student and the current Track and Field captain for the club.

Ellie has run from the age of 13 but used to pull a fair few sickies in order to avoid competing in cross country league races. Sticking to 800m and the occasional cheeky 400, Ellie loathed long distance which lacked the adrenaline and competitive atmosphere of the track. Despite this, she did end up qualifying for the South East Inter-County cross country championships in 2011, which was a rather pleasant surprise.

Since joining the club in her second year at Uni, Ellie no longer hibernates during cross-country season. Her family laughed when she told them she'd signed up for the Rome half marathon in 2014. This escalated to disbelief in the same year when she said 'what the hey' to running the Canterbury to Paris challenge - a last minute decision she never regretted! It's safe to say Ellie has embraced distance running wholeheartedly.
